Our goals

With all the plans we have for our Fair Life Ranch, we could use some help.

Our goal for our Fair Life Ranch:

Improving the lives of the animals we cross paths with and who need our help;
Organising activities for adults and children focusing on animal care and nature education;
Organising international exchange projects for secondary school pupils in Europe;
Organising events that promote Natural Horsemanship;
Becoming a place that provides shelter for people and animals during the threat of forest fires.

All this while sharing with you our love for animals and showing you that our various species of animals are all intelligent and sensitive creatures and therefore deserve much more in life than they usually get.

What we want to accomplish

Because we have big plans, there is also a lot to be realized. On the schedule are:

- improving and building new animal enclosures;

- a financial buffer to ensure every animal has immediate access to the best care;

- various spaces where nature education can be provided;

- an outdoor kitchen where guests can cook and we can cook for guests;

- picnic tables for various activities and locations on the farm and ranch;

- a natural playground;

- a covered terrace;

- and much more.

Assistance for the benefit of animals

(Health)care

For all animals, we spend money daily for the care they need to stay healthy. Money goes to things like food, vaccinations and in some cases daily medication. Per animal species the daily costs differ, of course.

Housing

For all animals, we spend money for housing. Building and maintaining good housing is also a considerable expense. Think about building stalls, pens, shelters and installing fencing to allow animals to graze in the right places.

Unforeseen situations

Of course, unfortunately, unexpected costs also happen due to an animal becoming sick, injured, found by us or dumped with us.

Donation of materials

To make our plans come true, we can use lots of materials that you or someone close to you might have available.

What we can use:

- roof panels
- horse trailers
- caravans
- mountain bikes
- greenhouses

Do you have materials to donate? If so, please send us an email with what you have to offer. The material can be brought or picked up. We also have several places in the Netherlands where stuff can be stored for transport to Portugal.

Volunteering

To make our plans a reality, we could really use your help. There is a lot to be done every day at the animals and there are always chores to be done.

We are therefore looking for:

Regular volunteers who would like to come and help one or more times a week.
Volunteers who want to help for a longer period of time with a project they have an affinity for.

Do you live in the neighborhood and have room to help at a fixed time during the week?
Are you traveling around with your own accommodations (self-sufficient) and want to help us with one of the scheduled jobs?
